“The illusion of choice” by Anna Demidova
MOOW.life decided to join the world of art and visit the premiere of the short film "The Illusion of choice" based on the book “An Ode to Loneliness”. The author of the novel Anna Demidova also became the producer of the film. We got an opportunity to talk to Anna before the premiere and got information about the concept of the book “An Ode to Loneliness”, details of film adaptation as well as about subsequent Anna’s work.

MOOW: Anna, why have you decided to write a book with such an intriguing title “An Ode to Loneliness”?
Anna: Frankly speaking my first goal was to help girls and women who have experienced divorce in their lives and bring them an idea that they are not alone. They should understand that divorce is not a sentence. Everyone who has experienced such a period in his life, in any case, becomes a member of the club “An Ode to Loneliness”. My book is a motivating tutorial "How to be happy, being absolutely unhappy."
MOOW: Do you think you have succeeded in helping girls who had not believed in themselves and their power after divorce?
Anna: According to the sales results of the first book, I can surely say: “Yes!” Popularity of the novel “An Ode to Loneliness” is growing and I often get letters from girls with words of gratitude for this book. It is very pleasant moments.
MOOW: We know that despite the popularity of the first book, you haven't stopped and this year you are going to publish your second novel called "An Ode to Love ". What is this work about?
Anna: The second book is more fun than the first. It talks about the second stage of life. How not to give up and move on. How to gain strength and build a relationship with a man. A book “An Ode to Love” is for those who still live in the past, who live in memories. I wanted to say: "Oh, guys, enough of it! “Was” is a verb of past tense".

MOOW: We know that on the basis of novel “An Ode to Loneliness” was created a short film "The Illusion of choice". Tell us about the shooting process, the team you cooperated with and difficulties that you had to overcome.
Anna: "The Illusion of Choice" is a short film which timing is 13 minutes and 13 seconds. A great team worked over production of this movie. It was directed by Elizabeth Khomenko - a young and talented girl, who is only 26 years old. So surprising how such a young girl could express a range of character’s feelings from melancholy hatred of life to the infernal destructive love for another person. “The illusion of choice” is a movie proving that every great love is a punishment for the choices made against all odds. Our heroes want to be together and they will even if they have to kill each other. Am I a spoiler now? So let’s talk about the actors! The main role was played by my friend and colleague Sergey Karpenko. He is very similar to the main character externally and internally. Sergei did not even give way to his acting talent, he just went and it was immediately clear that he was our main character. As for the difficulties during the film-making process so they did not occur. The main disadvantage we came across was lack of time. But despite the fact that our 1+1 TV channel team is engaged in many large-scale projects we have coped with the problems and shot a very good material.
MOOW: Anna, reveal a secret: how did you manage not to break down after a divorce and move on? Are you happy now?
Anna: We joke with friends that divorce is a great teacher "never do it again" and a wonderful motivator "to become the best version of yourself." One should understand that there is no tragedy. A depression is necessary to monetize in drawing pictures, writing books, making films ... The world's best works were written by the authors in difficult emotional conditions. As for me I can confidently say that I am happy now. I have a man who loves and supports me. And this is the most important thing!
